May we live into the marvelous mysteries of our faith. May we be okay with wonder. May we receive that which cannot be explained.
As a non-theist, I got to thinking about faith as an extension of the very condition of being human. Now faith became more interesting, and more important.
Everyday faith has taught me that humanity is far more important than theology. And not only to me, but to the God of Jesus, who lingers with me as he gently restores my soul.
Jesus is the pre-eminent interpreter of scripture. And in one instance he injects one interpretive word into one familiar theological statement, and we still haven’t recovered.
At the heart of every aspect of faith lies paradox. The deeper you go, the more you’re going to be asked to hold things in tension.
